World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day is observed on 1st December every year as a crusade which is dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection.

While 33 million people across the world have the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) that causes AIDS, more are enjoying healthier, longer lives thanks to powerful new medications.

 

Several programmes are being organised in the National Capital and across the country to create awareness among the people.

 

Red Express also stationed at Safdar Jung Railway station in Delhi, dissiminating information and knowledge about the AIDS and HIV.

 

UNICEF organised  a marathon yesterday in Kolkata with an aim to spread awareness among masses about the children suffering from HIV.
